SGMC offers an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) as a piece of our comprehensive employee benefits package.

What is EAP?

The Employee Assistance Program provides employees access to confidential, professional assistance to help employees and their families resolve problems that affect their personal lives or job performance.  All SGMC Employees and Employees of Affiliated Campuses are eligible for the EAP service.

What Kinds of Services Does EAP Offer?

The Employee Assistance Program offers you several services, including:

Marriage + Family Counseling

Substance Abuse Counseling

Parent + Child Counseling

Divorce Counseling

Counseling for Emotional Problems Resulting from Stress or Other Factors

Counseling for Anxiety + Depression

Counseling for Grief + Loss

What Does it Cost Me?

As a part of the benefits package, SGMC Employees are provided with 7 free visits.  If you need assistance over a longer period of time, the EAP Coordinator will work with your insurance or help establish a payment plan for you.

Is the Information I Share Confidential?

Yes, all information discussed with therapists remains confidential and is subject to Doctor-Patient Confidentiality and HIPAA Laws.  In the event that an employee is referred to the program by a supervisor, the supervisor will be notified that the employee has come as requested.  However, nothing the employee discusses with his or her therapist is released unless the employee requested it to be released.  In addition, employees are able to anonymously report back to the hospital about their perception of the service they received through EAP.
